Wynvild was once an integral component of Angvild Isle. During the Lith-Crillion Era, it seceded, creating a channel of fractured island remnants that became recognized as Warvild's Fingers. Following its separation, Wynvild drifted northward until it reached its current position.
The alien island shares similarities with Anvild, as it was once part of the Sea of Entropy. It remains the domain of air elementals and peculiar air currents known as air motes. These air motes render the island a gusty locale. Occasionally, they benefit vessels navigating nearby, but at other times, the unpredictable shifting of winds poses a recipe for calamity.
In 1703, Wynvild was vanquished by the Shounejo. The conflict to bring the island under Shou dominion was termed the Flying Arrow Campaign. During the Arrowowyn War, the Shou relinquished the island to Engineen.
Before becoming part of the Shounejo domain, Wynvild served as a haven for pirates and buccaneers. Some of the criminal organizations here were also members of the Pirate Lords. Under the governance of pirate satraps, the isle's inhabitants endured a rugged society often plagued by chaotic rule. In response to their lawless activities, Shounejo dispatched punitive patrols to the waters of Wynvild, sinking ships and raiding towns and villages as reprisals against piracy. Many captured pirates were transported back to Shounejo for trial, never to be heard from again.
The island's two foremost resources are its air motes and sugarcane.
