This conflict was precipitated by Engineen's aspiration for additional living quarters and, most crucially, increased resources.
In the Flying Arrow Campaign (Year 1703), Shounejo seized Wynvild and eliminated the pirate threat on the island. Engineen's military perceived the Shou's presence as a menace to national security. For years, the military implored the leaders to address the Shou issue. However, Engineen's democratic government rebuffed the Akhathl'dî plans for aggression. In 1734, Engineen's democratic government was overthrown and replaced by a militocracy.
A year later, Engineen declared war on Shounejo. The conflict was waged across the seas surrounding Angvild and Wynvild. Initially, Shounejo's formidable navy emerged victorious in the maritime engagements. This dynamic shifted in the second year of the war when Akhathl'dî mobilized towering golems, supported by a diverse array of sky and voidships. For the subsequent three years, the majority of the war's battles were fought on the expanse of Wynvild. In 1740, Engineen secured the island as territory and signed the Peace of Arrowowyn the following year.
