Air Motes are composed of oxygen and air energy. While some contain only trace amounts, these minuscule particles are nonetheless essential ingredients for Vessels of Free Air. Others, however, serve as the powerful engines that fuel never-ending storms.
Air motes are also employed in the construction of lengthy bridges or the suspension of objects, as well as providing lift for certain airships. For more substantial structures, such as a floating tower, the utilization of earth motes with anti-gravity capabilities is more common. Air motes serve as a more cost-effective alternative for supplying air on voidships and other entities operating in hostile environments. They are utilized for ventilation, introducing fresh air, while simultaneously expelling the used air.
Some airborne particulates possess surfaces suitable for constructing handholds. These typically drift with the winds, necessitating significant magical exertion to anchor them in place; this is usually achieved by manipulating the surrounding weather conditions. The surfaces in question are found in cloudy regions, either above the cloud layer or obscured within it.
