In the Dawn Era, a primordial was born near the heart of the Cinazan Region. Named Geb, his birth caused a massive piece of land to break free, becoming an earth mote, a sky island. The giants of the Titan Empires designated the vast depression left in the sky island's wake as the Basskaff rift, while the floating landmass was named Gurnskolf. When the Khazarkar Empire arrived in Cinazan during the Second Epoch, these areas were renamed using words from their language. The name changes were a policy of the Department of Retooling, part of the Khazarkar's methods of cultural domination, with Basskaff renamed Izen'nâth and Gurnskolf renamed Gindinâth. On maps of the land, one can distinguish a native's map from one made by the Khazarkars, as the former always refers to places using their Giant names.
The distance separating the summit of the chasm and the base of Gindinâth measures approximately four miles. Gindinâth, an earth mote, remains firmly anchored in place by virtue of its immense weight, as no winds possess the capability to displace it.
Long before the existence of mortals, a deity was ushered into being in this realm. Endowed with the primal energies of Chaos, their physical form was forged from the elements of earth, rock, iron, silver, and sundry other metals. The arrival of Geb rent the very fabric of the land, giving rise to Gurnskolf, Basskaff, and the famed Kernsking Koils.
The verdant foothills of Gindinâth are accessible via an intricate network of trails and roads winding their way through the tangled, vine-choked forest known as the Kernsking Koils. While the majority of these pathways necessitate a degree of climbing, they are often clearly marked, though occasionally misleading, potentially leaving unwary travelers disoriented or vulnerable to the domain of some predatory denizen. The principal thoroughfare is the well-maintained Hloding, regularly patrolled by the giants of Griddrir.
The surface of this floating island comprises lakes, forests, hills, and a mountain range. The entire region is under the control of cloud giants and storm giants, who frequently feud over the area. Gindinâth also hosts air motes and water motes of varying sizes. Griddrir's merchants trade small bottled air motes to those seeking luxury items, as the air in these motes is akin to breathing pure oxygen. Some of the larger air motes are sold to the Orchish Empire, who use them to power their skyships.
The largest city on Gindinâth is Griddrir. During the Horgon Era, Gindinâth served as the heart of an empire that commanded five million subjects across a vast expanse of a thousand miles in every direction. The remnants of this once-mighty Titan Empire, known as Aslauthroa, now lie scattered across Cinazan and beyond. Griddrir, situated atop the region they referred to as Gurnskolf, stands as the sole surviving vestige of this once-great empire.
