On the sky-island of Gurnskolf, at the end of a river where it becomes a waterfall, stands an ancient temple dedicated to Talos. Constructed by storm and cloud giants, the grand structure is fashioned from the common blue and white striated marble of the glacial region of Idgri. Frequently shrouded in clouds, the temple's lofty location 21,000 feet above sea level is hardly unexpected. The temple grounds are divided into an outer and inner enclosure, the latter accessible through a pair of massive 20-foot tall, 8-foot wide doors made of the rare Lapis Ice.

Inside this temple lies a feldspar block entombing the demon lord Onaikai. This altar is frequently referred to as the Weathermaker. Worshipers of Talos remain unaware that it contains a trapped demon lord, for Onaikai has persuaded those who approach him to perceive the altar, the Weathermaker, as nothing more than a vessel of power. This altar is concealed within the temple, situated behind a complex chamber that lowers and rotates to reveal an underlying cavern. Only a select few of Griddrir's storm giant shamans are permitted near this altar, while other worshipers utilize a separate altar in the main area of the temple.

The temple's name Ottaki is a clever allusion to the demon's appellation imprisoned within. The designation of this place, shaped by its captive, emerged long after Talos had departed the Mortal Systems. Talos recognizes the potential peril stemming from the demon lord confined in this sanctuary, yet it is a consequence of his own actions in disregarding Covenant Order 436-X12. Had he adhered to the directive of the Quara'tun Judges, Onaikai would have met his demise.

One area of the temple is designated Vilksorli Aldis, which translates from the Giant language as Courtyard of Rods. This section contains iron obelisks scarred and charred by lightning strikes. These Lightning Rods are crafted from the liquefied armor and armaments of those vanquished by Talos and his forces during the Demon Spawn War.

Above the temple are three fighting platforms, Gjak, Vinir, and Hafinn. These are named for three shamans who perished defending the temple from the Harbinger of Chaos. This battle in 851 LE spanned an entire day. The temple defenders, many storm and cloud giants included, were slaughtered in vast numbers. Yet, in the end, the beast was driven off, much to the relief of those making the arduous trek up the Vine Roads to pray before Ottaki's grand altars to Talos. The fighting platforms are semicircular structures with a parapet sized to protect a storm giant. Due to a treaty with the Khazarkar Empire, and to prevent the temple from being targeted militarily, Griddir is compelled to maintain these areas undefended, sealed both naturally and magically.
