The Weathermaker is a feldspar block entombing the demon lord Onaikai. During the Demon Spawn War, a primordial lord named Talos disregarded the order to execute him. Instead, Talos placed him in temporal stasis and then encased him within a block of feldspar. Talos then devised a means to harness his energy, utilizing it to power the magical properties of the surrounding block. When Talos departed Bal-Kriav, the location of this block was revealed to a few storm giant shamans. Talos informed them that the block was an altar, through which they could control the weather. Some have attributed the rise of the now-destroyed empire of Aslauthroa to be a product of this artifact, claiming it granted the giants the ability to either increase crop yields or bring famine and ruin upon their enemies.

The Griddrir shamans permitted near the Ottaki temple are now scarce. This sacred site houses the revered Weathermaker. Only those deemed blessed by the lighting father are granted access, bestowing them the ability to manipulate the elements - summoning rain, winds, and altering cloud cover.

In the Cinazan Front, the giants utilized the Weathermaker to conjure a massive cloud that pursued the Pillar of Horns. Negral, a crew member aboard this vessel, dubbed the cloud the Weathermaker's Embrace, and the ensuing clash, the Battle of the Weathermaker's Embrace.

Use of the Weathermaker is not without unintended consequences. Extensive utilization of the device's meteorological sorcery transformed Esto'khar into a verdant rainforest and Arnskar into an arid desert. These permanent alterations to the land occurred during the Horgon Era, when Aslauthroa employed the Weathermaker to assist in the expansion of their dominion.
