As the very fabric of Chaos, remnants of Creation, elemental motes do not always adhere to the conventions governing the surrounding world. A fire mote, provided it has access to oxygen, possesses the capacity to burn for hundreds, even thousands of years, while certain earth motes exhibit anti-gravity properties, defying the downward pull of the physical realm. Similarly, some water motes function as eternal springs, and various air motes perpetuate eternal storms.
