The Mephigax is a vast, expansive ocean that caresses the shorelines of Gorejun, Brucrumus, and Straiden. This oceanic expanse extends for thousands of miles beyond these landmasses, with the majority of its domain remaining uncharted.
With the powerful ocean currents, its winds are the North Easterlies. Consequently, the coastal vegetation of the Troll Bogs exhibits a natural north-easterly bend due to this wind. Throughout the months of Bloom through Bliss, the Daphezel Wind flows in the opposite direction of the North Easterlies.
Navigating the treacherous waters to the southwest poses grave dangers for sailing ships. Many are blown off course, dashed against sandbars, or lost in the vast expanse of the ocean. The waves in this particular sea are considerably more powerful and towering compared to the adjacent Pearl and Nielalroch bodies of water. Vessels traversing this ocean, unless hugging the coastlines, necessitate a sturdier construction to withstand the rigors. For ships that regularly ply these perilous waters, they are built taller and with wood that is both robust and supple.
Perilous and vast, the Mephigax is the domain of sea serpents that dwarf even the mightiest ships, and is dotted with islands harboring salamanders, demons, genies, and the cyclops The depths conceal the submerged cities of the sahuagin and ancient elven ruins overrun by the Scrag.
