Toomoneth is an island situated off the southeastern perimeter of Oralûth.
In the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE), the primordial assault on the Šadullu landmass commenced with a ripple of entropy radiating outward for thousands of miles. A remote area at the time, a Covenant garrison on Toomoneth was the sole entity affected by this warping energy. On 1501 DE, this energy transformed a contingent of wood elves serving under Corellon. They all became aberrations, possessing aspects of their former selves and those of insects. The Covenant made some effort to reverse the effects, but with the primordials attacking Straiden, resources were needed in more pressing areas. A period of insect-level cognition followed, with the predators dominating the island. Around 1805 DE, it is said their humanoid intellect returned, prompted by a famine resulting from over-hunting. They pondered the churning waters and devised means to cross, with some using web balloons, while the rest, recalling their former selves, built boats and planned to save their race through game management. Centuries later, the Arachnoids, having established a home on Oralûth, returned to their origins on Toomoneth, founding the elven-named settlement of Valdirinwë.
In the Third Epoch, activity in the region escalated as the Khazarkar Empire sought a revered relic of their deity Set, the renowned Black Chariot.
