Mîras-Sûr was a government-sponsored psionic academy constructed by the Borillisk. Within this institution, nestled deep in the heart of Barândîr, psions pooled their collective resources, giving rise to wondrous feats of psionic engineering. Mîras-Sûr blossomed into the premier institution for the study of psionics, thriving for a remarkable period of 112 years.
The school's operations came to a definitive end on 9 Warper 942. An egocentric headmaster orchestrated an audacious experiment involving all three hundred psions of the institution. The most adept metaminds of the school utilized metaconcert and font of power to pool their collective resources, then endeavored to transform darkness into daylight across the entire valley. The experiment devastated the minds of everyone present and left such an abundance of psychic energy in the area that no creature, including sentient undead, can approach Mîras-Sûr without suffering increasingly detrimental effects to their psyche. Some adventurers have discovered methods to mitigate the impacts by utilizing specially engineered lead helmets. They report that even with this protection, the psionic phantoms, colossal intellect devourers, thought slayers and other psionic horrors of Mîras-Sûr proved far too formidable to defeat.
These days, the locale is more widely recognized as Mindsear, despite the official designation remaining Mîras-Sûr.
