Urkúmph was once a region of rolling, verdant hills. The opening of the Ungorth Reddik Road, and the ensuing chaotic energy that poured into Turgon, caused these hills to become misshapen and turned the lush grasses a sickly yellow. Later, demons discovered coal deposits beneath the hills. Seeing little use for the black rocks, they compelled their elven and Graagvrii slaves to construct chimneys, whereupon the demons ignited the coal. Presently, over forty of these chimneys, some straight, others twisted or built at angles, dot the chaotic landscape. The coal fires have burned for centuries, blanketing the area with soot, palls of smoke, and noxious fumes.
