Urla'palos dates back to the demon invasion of Bal-Kriav. An underwater bastion of the Green Nebulous, it initially functioned as a collection point for war plunder destined for the home world of Athroond. Following the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), Urla'palos was pardoned by the Covenant and became home to a colony of aboleth that had once been unwilling servants of the demons.

In 1304 LE, Urla'palos was captured by the Lith-Crillion. Wielding formidable mental abilities, the city's aboleth were compelled to undergo psychic surgery, diminishing their predatory impulses. Under Lith-Crillion rule, Urla'palos transformed into a research hub, dedicated to studying subterranean aquatic lifeforms and delving into the workings of the Aboleth psyche.

The aboleth's memory is another remarkable trait An aboleth inherits the racial memory of its ancestors from birth, absorbing the recollections of those it consumes As the creature ages, its brain expands down its back, preserving an ever-growing collection of memories Aboleths relish the opportunity to immerse themselves in the captivating memories of their forebears, often reliving entire segments of their ancestors' lives when unoccupied[1]

In 1614 LE, the Lith-Crillion relocated their research endeavors northward to the submerged citadel of Titaram; Urla'palos had once more fallen under the dominion of the aboleth.

In the subsequent era, 1181 HE, Urla'palos was conquered by Krak-Oth and his Durkoth army. Two centuries under Durkoth rule concluded on 1355 HE. With the inception of Thyrms Breath (1355 HE - 1555 HE), the city's Durkoth inhabitants retreated into secretive vaults attuned solely to their kind.

Over the subsequent two centuries of Thyrms Breath, the withdrawal to hibernation vaults was replicated across all their strongholds. From Cthorgo to Zen'nêlkhush, the Durkoth vanished from sight.

When the Masters awaken, they will have transcended the constraints of mortality, and only the devoted will be granted the privilege of standing beside them, while the remainder are little more than subservient thralls.

Kraadred, a member of the Frenzy cell within the Entropy organization, presented the work "Durkoth Awakening"

Today, Urla'palos is a gloomy, dilapidated ruin featuring a mix of architectural influences – demonic, Lith-Crillian, Durkoth, and Aboleth. This haunting abode is home to deranged Aboleth and aquatic terrors, a testament to the immense psychological anguish it has witnessed. Many of its native inhabitants possess psionic wild talents and mutations.
