Created within the forgotten Entropic Pond, Athroond was endowed with commanding attributes. Serving beneath Piranoth, he functioned as the military overseer of Arioch. His physical form was most aptly characterized as a primordial abomination, one adapted for the oceans yet capable of traversing land with a multitude of tentacles.
In the year 4377 DE, much like countless others before him, Arioch fell victim to the corrupting influence of the Threads of Damnation. This transformation gradually altered his nature, rendering him increasingly demon-like with each passing day. His physical form underwent a disturbing metamorphosis, taking on an unsettling, angelic-yet-sickly appearance. Driven by the innate malevolence of his kind, Athroond embarked on a calculated course of plotting and scheming, all in pursuit of power and dominion.
Rising to prominence during the tumultuous period of the Abyssal Release, which spanned from 7777 DE to 8777 DE, Athroond was akin to countless other demon lords, perpetually driven by an insatiable appetite for power and influence.
In the year 105 GE, Athroond collaborated with others in the invasion of Bal-Kriav. Emerging through a rift known as the Arioch Cloud, aquatic legions dispersed across the Green Nebulous, establishing Athroond and his generals' dominion over much of the surrounding territory.
Athroond's arrival in the subterranean domain of Drarthiel was accompanied by countless demons and Bal-Kriav's inaugural aboleth. Captives with an inclination to subjugate their peers, they were placed under the command of a ruthless and tyrannical general known as Blibdoolpoolp.
For several years during the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), Athroond aligned with Demogorgon, laying siege to the Covenant forces entrenched in the Cairn Ascent.
On 2 Brightstar 243 GE, the Timepiece of Chronos was activated within the Arioch Cloud. This action froze the rift in time, then unexpectedly spilled across the rift, trapping Athroond and his world in a timeless dimension.
During his time on Bal-Kriav, Athroond accumulated substantial wealth, regularly shipping cartloads of raw materials and treasures back to his home world. He also established a hierarchical system of titles, bestowing them upon those deemed worthy or those willing to pay the price. This tiered structure included Demon barons, counts, knights, and numerous other designations, even for the most menial of positions.
