Entropic Ponds are domains brimming with concentrated energy. A blend of diverse energy types, when harnessed, these ponds can engender lifeforms or transmute one into a more entropic variant of its previous state. During the Dawn Era, the Primordial Lords leveraged them to assemble their formidable armies.
Before the Wells of Afterlife, soul energy was drawn back to Chaos and fragmented. The Wells of Afterlife intercepted the soul energy destined for Chaos. Adversaries of Creation, the primordials would themselves become that which they abhorred, employing entropic pools in the formation of their elemental legions.

On 14 Temporal 1987 DE, the Nine-Tongued Worm inadvertently generated the illithid race at an Entropic Pond.
On 19 Witchrite 119 GE, on the world of Bal-Kriav, the Kuo-toa race were brought into existence at the First Toadoolp Twist. What was once an entropic pond under the dominion of Blibdoolpoolp has since transformed into a rift. Blibdoolpoolp utilized this primordial pool to create a race beholden to her, aiding her on the path of Ascension.
Entropic Ponds manifest in various forms, such as a pool of water, a vast expanse of mud, the eternal blood and gore of a battlefield, or an invisible area that collects and stores the surrounding energies. It is believed that it takes thousands of years for these ponds to reach a point where they become fully functional. In systems beyond the Sea of Entropy, they serve as places where souls are reforged to match the dominant energies of the world around them. For those scattered across the realms of the Abyss, this means they are used to create more demons. Those within the Sea of Entropy are the source of new entropic aberrations, monstrosities, and the primordials.
