The Osyluth Scythe is an ancient weapon created during the Demon Spawn War by an osyluth demon smith. The weapon was intended as a gift for his master, the demon prince Athroond, but after being slighted by him, the smith concealed the item in one of Manduggiss's jungle swamps. Tragically, the demon smith was killed in an engagement with fey rangers under the banner of Silvanus, resulting in the loss of the sole individual who knew the hiding place of his finest crafted work.
In the First Epoch, the gnolls of Zyrath discovered the Osyluth Scythe. It is said they were fortunate, finding it after a prolonged, arduous drought that had dried out the land. Among the gnolls of Zyrath, there are tales claiming that Yeenoghu's will led them to the item. The Osyluth Scythe did not remain in anyone's possession for long, as only the strongest and most cunning could fend off those seeking it. Gaufthaur Drugnod, the founder of the Drugnod Dynasty, wielded it longer than any other, holding it for two decades. Its most renowned use was when she employed it to entomb the great wizard Foropode in an Ice Prison.
The Osyluth Scythe is a +3 icy burst scythe. The weapon emanates an icy chill, such that anyone not wearing protective gloves and vulnerable to the cold will risk frostbite upon grasping it.
