In the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), this area served as an immense labor camp under the brutal supervision of demonic guards. A holding of Athroond, the demon lord and master of the surrounding region for centuries, it was simply designated the Slave Pen. This was a front for a highly profitable operation, as behind a series of treacherous cliffs, part of the Raefknar region, slaves toiled endlessly, mining iron, gold, and gemstones. Plagued by rampant corruption and overseers seeking personal gain, the slaves perished in the tens of thousands.

In 465 HE, a mining company based in Vynnendar dispatched prospectors eastward to the Cthorgo Sea, then down the Mind-Dûn and west across the Green Nebulous. They followed an ancient Covenant map to long-forgotten and sealed-off mines. With the aid of earth elementals and thousands of workers, they reopened Slave Pen.

In the year 1035, settlers of this municipality established the Orryn colony.

In 1443, the city of Slave Pen fell to Yastorogg and its demon master Dvr'jiss.
