Yastorogg began as a hunting camp where trogs scoured the towering cliffs of Raefknar for bird eggs and flightless fowl as large as mules and as perilous as newborn dragons. For this bigger game, including the occasional griffon and wyvern, trog hunters deployed nets, Covenant siege ballista leftover from the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), and an array of smaller missile weapons. Although hunting remains hazardous even today, locals have long subsisted on Athroonds Hounds. These beasts, a cross between demon goats that once fed Athroond's legions and native mountain goats, are a common meat source for the entire region, with the meat even packed in ice and transported down river to Undercity, then up to the finest Paradomean restaurants.

On 7 Temporal 1009, due to defaulting on city loans, Yastorogg was legally transferred to the Irdtrax Republic. This transition had little impact on the people of Yastorogg, as many were already Irdrax transplants, residing there for work or business reasons. However, from the perspective of the cities of Vhurindrar, Shoglomph, and Slave Pen, the expansion of Irdtrax's influence resulted in further economic strangulation of the Great Tradeway.

In the year 1337 of the Raefknar War (1333 - 1338), the warrior Yastorogg was seized by a demonic entity known as Dvr'jiss.

The Palace of Jagg, constructed by countless enslaved laborers, stands as the city's most awe-inspiring architectural marvel. Sparing no expense, the palace boasts the skills of craftsmen summoned from far and wide, with its lavish walls adorned in Styx Granite and crowned by the skulls of all who dared defy the edict of Dvr'jiss Jagg.
