In the year 129, the Kriav empire of Gwildath dispatched colonists to Gwaeldior, where they established the settlement of Celebriän.

In the Great Exodus (998 - 1017), throngs of Tragarans arrived on the southern shores of Hells Womb. The reclusive people of Celebriän resisted the encroachment into Gwaeldior. Over time, the Tragaran population boom reached the borders of Gwaeldior, leading to increasing intermingling between the two groups. The growing number of half-elves sparked unrest over equal rights, eventually inciting a change in government with the formation of a republic in 1068.

In 1052, Celebriän's army was outmaneuvered. An army of firbolgs besieged and seized their most prized stronghold. Many were apprehended and transported westward to the Ogre Steps, destined to become slaves of a certain Toomrur satrap. Nine years later, after vanquishing Naggor Stormland, Celebriän was repopulated.

In the Bone Arrow Campaign (1467 - 1470), the Celebriän managed to impede the northward advance of the Black Tide along the Sorrow Road.

The Celebriän have engaged in numerous territorial disputes with the Council of Bile. These conflicts tend to be fleeting in nature. During the Third Sorrow Pass War, they allied with the Paradomean forces to thwart a territorial incursion by the Orchish Empire.

In 1830, they forged a secret military alliance with the Council of Bile. Two years later, they launched an assault upon the Orchish Empire, aligning themselves with the Chaos War. The elves also engage in fierce conflict with Surticon and Yastorogg over the issues of slave trafficking and raiding. In contrast to the sporadic skirmishes with the Council of Bile, these battles against their northern adversaries are relentless and bloodstained for all involved.

The picturesque elven city of Celebriän is situated in the western region of Gwaeldior. Adorned with shimmering spires, it boasts expansive gardens and parks that resemble miniature forests, as well as an abundance of over a hundred fountains. Nestled atop forested ridges flanking the Delagon River, the city features decorative covered bridges and spans to facilitate crossing the narrower sections of the waterway. In areas where the river widens, access ferries and additional watercraft provide passage from one side to the other.

Morning mists, whether natural or magical, envelop the city every dawn. Celebriän blends seamlessly with the surrounding forest. Many of the residents dwell in tranquil tree houses, connected by an intricate network of hundreds of bridges. As night falls, the city is illuminated by the radiant glow of fireflies and a kaleidoscope of colors from the thousands of faeries fluttering through the air. At ground level, the streets are paved with deep green cobblestones, while the buildings are constructed from the rich brown and green marble quarried from the Gelugon Range. The roofs and structural supports throughout the city are predominantly crafted from Firebrand.
