Gwaeldior is a temperate woodland region situated within the Hells Womb. Originating north of the Mynzuth Hills, this expansive forest stretches northward to the foothills of Gathol and the Ogre Steps. During the Horgon Era, it marked the southern boundary of the Nárfaltuin Forest. However, with the advancement of civilizations, Gwaeldior has faced reduction due to logging and agricultural activities.
The Celebriäns lay claim to the Gwaeldior forest. This woodland is home to the Kriavfahliil, Forstneblin, centaurs, and a variety of fey creatures. The civilized side of the forest begins at the Foronir River and extends westward to the Gelugon Range. Conversely, the wilder portion lies on the opposite bank of the river, stretching all the way to the Mynzuth hills and Lake Girâmar. This region serves as the hunting grounds for unfriendly fey, bands of Pixie, green dragons, and various rebel factions constantly vying for power in the area. These groups may work for the Council of Bile, Paradomea, Surticon, the Celebriäns, the Orchish Empire, or other smaller organizations. The Celebriäns do not police the wilder side, instead leaving it as a buffer state between their sometimes hostile neighbors. Consequently, the region has become a haven for bandits and other lawless elements. Whenever a particular group grows too powerful or entrenched, the Celebriäns intervene, either directly or by hiring a mercenary company, to put them in their place.
Like Sorrow Pass, this woodland is a necropolis, strewn with half-buried bones, rusting and rotting implements of war. During the Black Tide War (1465 - 1486), many of the forest floor's deceased found new purpose. Resurrected as skeletons, nearly 2,000 joined the Black Tide's swelling undead legions. Battling Gwaeldior's natives for passage northward, the Black Tide added an equal number of zombies, from both enemy and their own ranks.
