The Bile family are descendants of a black dragon named Vahriz, hailing from the lineage of the Diiv Kiir.
Long ago, when the Tragaran people inhabited Gulimbor, witches of the Thaoun tribe forged a pact with a black dragon named Vahriz. In exchange for the dragon's assistance against the Khazarkar, their firstborn females would be sent to the dragon. Vahriz promised something more long-term to aid in the fight against their adversaries. The females who went to copulate with Vahriz returned with offspring, a blend of human and dragon blood. They became known as the Scion of Vahriz, the first Tragarans born with dragon ancestry.
In 303, the Scion of Vahriz lamented the passing of their dragon patriarch. With his demise, the dragon-descended formed clans, all adopting the family name Vahriz, the Draconic term for Bile. To uphold the purity and vigor of their bloodline, the houses undertake arduous endeavors every few generations to locate a willing black dragon. Fraught with the potential loss of a kinsman to the malevolence of their kind, this blood renewal is often performed on the world of Geb's Rain, where black dragons are scarce and solitary on a shattered realm.
The Bile family amassed wealth and prominence during the esteemed Cal-Thaoun Dynasty, spanning the years 350 to 1016. As preeminent trainers and breeders for an array of mounts, from the crodlu of the southern hinterlands to the fierce war rams of Kilth, they commanded a network of dozens of ranches encompassing tens of thousands of acres. As major suppliers to the government, they were heavily relied upon.
During the reign of Kal-Oni (1016 - 1266), House Bile resided in the empire's western frontier territories. Like under the previous rulers, the Cal-Thaoun, they provided the Kal-Oni with horses. These equines were primarily sourced through limited contracts with the northern Theegan horse traders.
On the first day of War March in the year 1282, General Rozol Bile assumed the position of leader within the Council of Bile.
