Irdtrax

The Lost Scion War (20 - 77), a conflict initiated to incorporate a more prosperous city into the fold, culminated in the establishment of a new republic. Its member states included Tharuzbaluk, the losing party of the said war, now serving as the administrative capital, followed by Hagurthand with its formidable army and navy but weak economy, then the venerable northern city-state of Arazindam, the progenitor of them all, and the rapidly expanding port of Duluk-Zirag. Christened Irdtrax after the individual who envisioned a larger state, its government became a representative of broader interests, supplanting the mercantile interests that had been in control for three centuries.

The Church of Mammon, supporters of the old syndicates, found the Irdtrax Republic detrimental to Mammon's influence; his steadfast proselytizers preached that "laws, accounting, and controls harm profits." A decade later, following the closure of the final Church of Mammon in Hagurthand, word spread that it was the machinations of Tarâk's worshippers that catalyzed this profound transformation, terminating the reign of merchant lords as prosperous as surface kings.

By the Second Epoch, Irdtrax had established control over harbors on two seas - the northern Cthorgo and the southern shores of the Green Nebulous. With expansive monopolies on the movement of goods and people, Irdtrax found itself at the center of a multi-front war. The Tradeway Wars (1131 - 1231), attributed to Irdtrax's domination of the shipping lanes across the two seas and their many rivers, culminated in the loss of Duluk-Zirag.

The city of Arazindam, bolstered by the military and financial support of the Orchish Empire, proclaimed its autonomy in the year 1306.

In the Raefknar War, assailed by the armies of Dvr'jiss, Irdtrax was compelled to relinquish the city of Yastorogg.
