Built during the Demon Spawn War ( 89 GE - 269 GE ) , the undersea citadel of Titaram served as a forward naval base for the forces of Athroond. For decades of steadfast military service and unwavering loyalty, Titaram was eventually ceded entirely to Blibdoolpoolp, perhaps the most skilled naval commander of the Abyssal Hegemony.
In 228 GE, the city of Titaram was besieged by the Covenant navy under the command of Thjorygg. Through the use of devastating underwater sonic explosions, akin to depth charges, the attackers inflicted significant damage and casualties. Titaram, once home to nearly 10,000 aquatic demons, aboleth, and Lacedon, was subsequently evacuated by military decree. The city then served as an anchorage for Covenant naval assaults on Athroond's southern strongholds, before being abandoned as the conflict shifted to other regions of the world.
After the Demon Spawn War, Titaram was gradually restored by the aboleth. As the surrounding populations expanded, so too did Titaram's reconstruction and its enslaved populace.
In the year 1614 LE, the Lith-Crillion departed the submerged stronghold of Urla'palos, journeying northward to another subterranean ocean. They hastened to the north, driven by the desire to gain unfettered access to the secrets that safeguarded Titarum, as well as to secure any Covenant equipment requiring protection.
Learning from its fall to Thjorygg in the Demon Spawn War, Titaram now safeguards itself against all auditory perils. The approach employed, utilizing engineering, aquatic lifeforms, and diverse energy particles that collectively reverberate sound waves, is secondary to safeguarding Covenant resources.
Hartagoth, in his journal entry from the Mind-link Diaries, titled "Covenant Assets": The recent acquisition of the Covenant assets has provided a significant boost to our operational capabilities The cache of ancient technology, secured from the Derelict Citadel, has proven invaluable Our researchers have been working tirelessly to unlock the secrets of these relics, and the results have been most impressive The gravitational manipulators, for instance, have allowed us to achieve unprecedented levels of maneuverability and control in our spacecraft This has been a crucial advantage in our engagements with enemy forces Additionally, the adaptive shielding systems have bolstered our defensive posture, rendering our vessels far more resilient to hostile firepower Furthermore, the xenoarchaeological data recovered from the site has shed new light on the origins and history of the Covenant This knowledge has been instrumental in shaping our strategic approach, allowing us to anticipate and counter their movements with greater precision Overall, the successful retrieval of these Covenant assets has been a significant triumph, strengthening our position in the ongoing conflict We shall continue to leverage these technological advantages to secure victory for the Alliance
Titaram's capture was swift, with defenders succumbing to concentrated psionic mental assaults that came in relentless waves, stunning them in droves. The stunned were confined within psionic adhesives, and the more recalcitrant were subdued by Lith-Crillion marines in bio-mechanical suits. Similar to those subdued at Urla'palos, those who persisted in resisting the new order were subjected to lobotomy, their malevolent intent and innate entropic beliefs quelled through psychic surgery.
Under the Lith-Crillion, a surface living space was added, connected to the aboleth's subaqueous metropolis. Air-filled domes and other amenities were incorporated, granting researchers access to aquatic test environments. As the Lith-Crillion departed Titaram to conduct studies in distant realms, the aboleth reclaimed their position as sovereigns of the city.
In the Durkoth Descent (995 HE - 1355 HE), the Durkoth of Ak'mrîtun (872 HE - 49) departed the surface for the dark seas of Cthorgo and Green Nebulous. Within these aquatic realms, the Durkoth waged a campaign of dominance that mirrored their prior exploits on the surface. However, their endeavors at Titaram met with dismal failure, as the majority of Durkoth were captured, transformed into research specimens, or consumed.
