Zigil is a solitary mountain within the Mîn-Mazan valley. Revered as a sacred site, it honors the Earthen who served under Storralk during the Abyssal Release ( 7777 DE - 8777 DE ) .
In the First Epoch, miners hailing from Phlehorn began tapping into the mountain, seeking its storied riches. Considered a sacred site by many, they encountered fierce resistance from its guardians, elemental spirits of the land, Galeb-Duhr, stone giants, and earth elementals. The guardians battled Phlehorn's miners and then her armies in an effort to maintain the sanctity of the mountain and keep them out of the Earth Shrine. Nearly a millennium later, the kingdom of Phlehorn succumbed to the Earth Skin Rot, a virulent disease spawned from breaching the Earth Shrine.
The Zigil region boasts an abundance of precious mineral deposits, including platinum, ruby, diamond, and emerald. Largely untapped, the local Earthen population aims to maintain this status quo.
