The creatures of Gulimbor were profoundly impacted by the magical forces that devastated the region during the Gulimbor Cataclysm (996 - 1203). These creatures have become known as the Gulimbor Tainted.
Beings afflicted by the Gulimbor Taint are referred to as spellwarped. They pass this condition to their offspring when both parents are spellwarped, otherwise there is only a 30% chance of it being inherited. Some khazarkars and Tragarans are spellwarped. During the Great Exodus (998 - 1017), they migrated to other regions, primarily Brucrumus. Many of these spellwarped Khazarkars and Tragarans could only find mates who were also afflicted, allowing the condition to persist for generations in certain families. In some cults, the spellwarped state is viewed as an evolution to a superior form.
