Vith'kirr, a term that loosely translates to "Children of the Serpent," is the name given to those who bear the Curse of Ausul'nah. During the First Dragon Wake ( 218 GE - 235 GE ) , Ausul'nah, the daughter general of Tiamat, underwent a ritual that made her venomous bite even more perilous. Mortal and celestial female humanoids bitten by Ausul'nah became infected with a magical curse, passing it on to others through their own bites. As few managed to escape Ausul'nah, the Vith'kirr race did not become widely known until the Horgon Era.
Like a werewolf's capacity to transition between humanoid and humanoid-beast forms, the Vith'kirr possess the ability to shapeshift between their standard humanoid appearance and a diminished version of a genuine dragon.
One of the most renowned Vith'kirr families is the Dras'ee. This matriarchal family is also a MinĂ¢th one, where the ladies of the house, proud of their dragon lineage, impart it to their daughters through a ceremony befitting royalty.
