In the Horgon Era, the region formerly known as the Bagwer Region came to be called Hive. Situated south of the Azrik and Gulimbor areas, it is home to swarms of vermin, knell beetles, locusts, brood keepers, and other insects of remarkable intelligence. Some of the more intelligent bugs possess the ability to gather hordes under their command, leading to great bug swarms that descend into a frenzy of biting, stinging, and consuming. The most perilous of these are the Hive Swarms, capable of decimating villages, towns, and even entire civilizations.
In the First Epoch, at immense cost, the intrepid Gimrune explorers ventured into the region's remote interior, investigating ancient ruins and encountering peoples in Klak-tak and Tal'pok who endure the ravaging swarms. Safeguarded by inhospitable terrain, these communities have become adept at combating the area's insect infestation and surviving the Hive Swarms.
Beneath the surface lies the subterranean realm of Maenedhel.
