This russet-hued metal is found solely in the Limbo system. Berusk is a ferrous alloy with properties akin to iron. It bears the taint of the Dawn Era, when it was employed extensively in mighty fortifications, the construction of iron golems, and the forging of armor. The tumultuous battles that raged across Limbo's worlds saw the warring factions utilize shape-shifting sorcery without respite. This sorcery affected living beings, animated entities, and even the very structures themselves. To counter this, vast amounts of iron ore were placed in immense cauldrons and imbued with Negative Entropy.
Armor crafted from this metal offers Advantage on saving throws that compel a change to the wearer's physiology, such as those from a polymorph spell or the shape-shifting abilities of a lycanthrope. This metal can also be utilized in reinforcing structures, with berusk rebar providing the same protective benefits against spells like rock to mud.
In certain regions of the kingdom, recognized shape-shifters are compelled to don such attire while in populated locales, or do so of their own volition to circumvent potential difficulties.
