Artery Rip is a +3 rapier of wounding and speed.
The pommel of this elegant rapier is crafted from a piece of ivory looted from Irastânâz. The hilt is forged from a single piece of Berusk. Artery Rip's blade was tempered from the leg of a Hydrocur. The watery essence of the creature was magically petrified, then shaped like iron. The weapon was created by Maleraunts serving under the minotaur Admiral Ghastern. Unfortunately, the ship carrying this gift was driven far off course. The vessel transporting this weapon, the Luckless Spirit, was drawn into a Warp Whirl and presumed lost.
A century later, the Sea Strider found itself in the same predicament as the Luckless Spirit. After being struck by a Warp Whirl, they discovered themselves on the shores of lake Fjorgeir. Fortunately, the chest containing Artery Rip remained amidst the wreckage of the Luckless Spirit. This weapon, imbued with Hydrocur sentience, guided them out of the landlocked lake (c.f. Into the Sink).
