The Ormartheon tribe have traversed the expansive Great Expanse and the verdant High Wood Country for countless generations. Like most of Brucrumus's indigenous lizardfolk, their lineage traces back to the marshes of Kagarr. The tribe's storied past is chronicled in runic inscriptions scattered across the two regions, their legends passed down through oral tradition.
During the Horgon Era, the Ormartheon were forced to flee Kagarr by another lizardfolk people known as the Viidostor. The tribe splintered, with one group settling in the High Wood Country. As elves began colonizing this region, the Ormartheon were once again compelled to move. The tribe's largest permanent encampment is located in Neithreth, primarily serving as a trading post. The majority of the Ormartheon are nomadic, roaming far and wide, rarely staying in any one area for more than a year. They maintain a number of permanent settlements in the deep swamps of the Great Expanse to house their elderly and infirm. Additionally, the Ormartheon have ancient subterranean strongholds within the vast depths of Calantar, which they reoccupy when passing through the region.
The warforged of Helmogorn and the elves of Spirachiln pose the most significant threats to the tribe. This is because the warforged and the elves are common targets for lizardfolk slavers. Additionally, the elves and warforged view the nomadic movements of the lizardfolk through their territory as trespassing, even though the lizardfolk have traversed these areas for millennia before either of those peoples settled there.
The citizens of Ormartheon predominantly pay reverence to Tiamat, while a minor fraction venerate Demogorgon.
