In 1312, the necromancer Defilnus constructed a keep on the craggy shores overlooking Lake Virgath. Situated between two rivers in the rugged, hilly terrain, the keep was located in a remote region. The mere presence of Defilnus's Bone Keep instilled a sense of security, facilitating land routes between the east and west. Although Defilnus never intended it to become a commercial hub, his simple keep evolved into an area of protection within an otherwise lawless domain.

In 1341, fatigued of administering the rapidly expanding territory, Defilnus sold the land surrounding her stronghold to the Orchish Empire. This twenty-mile wide parcel between Lake Boraresh in the south and Virgath in the north, containing two villages and a town totaling approximately 15,000 inhabitants, was designated on the deed as Collossapolos, a private trade district. The uninterrupted growth and prosperity of the region eventually led to the amalgamation of the towns and villages, becoming an enclosed city in the early 1500s.

Today, second in scale only to Paradomea City, the sprawling city of Collossapolos extends along the banks of two rivers. As the commercial epicenter of the Orchish Empire's trade network, it boasts a port on Lake Virgath and serves as a crossroads for four major thoroughfares.

Collossapolos is a boisterous metropolitan area teeming with pugilistic encounters, expansive arenas, regular athletic spectacles, expansive commercial centers, and more nefarious pursuits such as prostitution, gambling, and extortion. Sprawling between two rivers, cascading across hills and along cliffs, Collossapolos comprises thirty distinct quarters. Each quarter is encircled by fortified walls and watchtowers; safeguarding against external foes and quelling outbreaks of civil upheaval.
