Hjarngrod is an ancient citadel situated near the heart of the Borngring wasteland. Built during the initial reign of Hofthorm, its outer rampart is constructed of obsidian and lava stone, standing at five times the height of a fire giant. It served as the capital throughout the Hofthorm Monarchy's duration (145 HE - 101). At its peak, the city boasted a population of 40,000. Currently, it has dwindled to only one-quarter of that figure, as most residents have returned to their rural origins before the centralization imposed by Hofthorm's leaders.
