Ogharkú was built by enslaved ixitxachitl for their masters, the Durkoth; an alien race that came to this area in the Durkoth Descent (995 HE - 1355 HE). The Durkoth utilized their captive workforce to construct an alien-appearing metropolis of immense scale. The city is predominantly composed of coral, which remains living in numerous sections, and stretches across ten miles of reefs and submerged caverns. The residential areas are widely dispersed, yet interconnected by an expansive network of subterranean, water-filled passageways.

The Durkoth who ventured beneath the seas were partially deranged and gradually deteriorating. They never managed to construct a formidable empire like the one they had established on the surface with Abâthigûr. The Durkoth fragmented, with some pursuing independent paths and founding minor domains. As their strength grew, these factions swiftly clashed. Ogharkú would persist as a city-state for over a millennium.

When the Durkoth vanished mysteriously from the seas, the ixitxachitl waged war over the spoils of their former masters. The city descended into ruin due to this conflict and lack of maintenance. During the final century of the Horgon Era, the region surrounding Orat-Khagor stabilized. A powerful ixitxachitl family rose to prominence - the Ranturâpha. Over the ensuing 150 years, they battled for supremacy over the other holdings dotting the walls of Orat-Khagor.

On 13 Temporal 72, the Ranturâpha Empire was founded. Ogharkú was designated as its capital metropolis.
