When Lukoon became head of the CIB, the Covenant's intelligence apparatus, he commenced a covert operation to uncover information about his birthplace. He yearned to understand the system from which he and many others originated. Lukoon could vaguely recall certain details of the world he started on, such as its moon and constellations. However, with the advanced star charts available today, nothing seemed to align. Now, thousands of years later, as the leader of an intelligence network spanning dozens of systems and worlds, Lukoon possessed the resources to investigate this matter further.
Codenamed Birthplace, this operation was risky. The All-Father, his dad, had frequently advised him that some secrets are better left undisclosed. This carried undertones of a warning not to interfere in his affairs. Lukoon decided to challenge his dad, widely recognized as the Arch-Creationist Bruh Kreniik, to see what he could uncover about the system under which he and many others were born. The first revelation was that it served as a testbed for the works of Creation. Prior to its corruption, it resembled Piranoth's Steps, a place to expedite the natural evolution of a world and its lifeforms.
The most compelling discovery of this operation was the remnants of a scorched missive. Penned in Draconic, it alludes to an era predating what is now more familiarly termed the Lost Ages.
The evolutionary facets of the remote epoch are excessively gradual to reconstruct it in its entirety once more. I believe I shall heed Piranoth's counsel and utilize warp matter, the substance that initially precipitated its demise.
