From 999 to 1131, the populace of the Borillisk Empire resided in their second and final homeland on Sahuld. Historically a land-locked society, they lacked the necessary expertise and therefore relied on others to navigate the seas, procure sustenance, construct vessels, and manage deep-water affairs. On 1 Bloom 1005, while standing in the waters of the expansive port of Mezzorn, near Sahuld's southern tip, the Elder Furs established the quasi-governmental company Mezzorn Shipwrights. Its initial purpose was to oversee all contractors and services.
In 1019, the populace having mastered the fundamentals of fishing, boating, and island living, the Elder Furs relinquished their involvement in the company. Now a private enterprise, the Mezzorn Shipwrights concentrated on constructing vessels, while other segments of the former governmental apparatus fragmented or dissolved. This privatization would not have occurred without the persuasion of two Elder Fur members to retire. It is rumored that the Realm Stalkers orchestrated the task of convincing the "old coots" to retire to their ill-gotten wealth and grand chateaus.
In 1126, five years before the downfall of Borillisk, the company relocated its central operations to Zerot. This strategic move was driven by two key factors. Firstly, the business-friendly environment in Zerot, which welcomed trade from all parties and was free from the harassment experienced in Borillisk. Secondly, the company and its leadership sought to ensure their survival, as they grew increasingly apprehensive about their government's renewed interest in Necrocrypt's other islands. This proved to be a fortuitous decision, as few managed to escape the devastating plague that was brought back from the ill-fated expedition to the undead-infested central isle of Necrocrypt.
Today, Zerot functions as the organization's central office. One of the ships they devised is the Gyalech Speeders.
