In the southeastern reaches of Edhelviel lies an expansive archipelago encompassing over a thousand islands. This island cluster is commonly referred to as Azrinn'nûr, or the Rings of Azrinn, by most non-elven individuals.
Azrinn'nûr and the surrounding area extending a hundred miles in all directions are subject to peculiar weather conditions. Occasionally, these manifest as forceful gales and even typhoons. A survey of the region was conducted in 1709 by the druid Eclipse. She asserts that the violent weather patterns of Azrinn'nûr arise from warm currents flowing northward from the Mephigax where they converge with the icy waters of Nautrek. Others contend that the area's unusual weather, numerous navigational hazards, and ring-shaped islands serve as a clear warning against venturing into a domain of the deities.
At the core of these fractured isles lies a tremendous whirlpool the sea elves have dubbed Níngoth. This is an inverse whirlpool, pulling those up from the Sea Tunnel.
