The inaugural Blood Fishers were crafted by the Hlotho Zîn. During the Breached Pass Campaign, these tridents were wielded by a squad of Hlotho Zîn mercenaries fighting alongside the Black Tide. They utilized these blood-draining weapons in circumstances where they had to combat alongside other forces and did not wish to disclose their identity as Vampires, such as by being observed feeding on an adversary.
Blood Fishers accumulate the blood from those injured by them. This blood may be consumed in its entirety at a later time or serve as a gradual regenerative agent. For vampires, their innate regenerative abilities are sufficient, so this restorative effect was likely implemented to conceal their true objective of harvesting blood.
Blood Fishers can be imbued with any enchantment. Those pressed into service for the Breached Pass Campaign were hastily outfitted, with most possessing merely a +1 enchantment. One of the more covert powers of these weapons is the Hidden Purpose. This enchantment was applied by the Hlotho Zîn leadership, enabling their users to gather more comprehensive intelligence.
