Crulock Globes are gelatinous globules of nature energy. They were created by the primordial lord Mephirouth solely to accelerate the fungi growth around Crulock. The energy of one of these globes covers a 100-foot diameter, providing sustenance to plant-life and plant-based creatures. Plants in the area of a Crulock Globe grow five times faster, two to four times larger, and produce three times the bounty of any fruit, toxin, or substance they yield. Handling a Crulock Globe is perilous for any creature except the Myconids, as Mephirouth designed these globes as vessels of disease. Fortunately, only direct contact with them exposes one to a virulent disease that can devastate a community within weeks.
Late in the God Era, myconids collected hundreds of Crulock Globes from the Crulock ruins. Until that time, no other creature had survived exploration of the disease-infested ruin. They transported the Crulock Globes to Wyzbrack and over several decades transformed a dark and barren swamp into a vibrant oasis of life. The myconid population rapidly expanded under a canopy of natural energy. This prosperity ended with the arrival of the Kuo-toa, who wiped them out, yet did not disturb the Crulock Globes. Reportedly, priests of Blibdoolpoolp had warned the Kuo-toa of agonizing deaths for any who dare to touch Mephirouth's creations. A few foolhardy individuals did make contact, resulting in deaths from incurable, ever-shifting diseases.
Patient 1 is desiccating. There can be no fate more dire for a kuo-toa. Copious amounts of water and even complete submersion provide no relief. Two attendants have also contracted Mephirouth Touch and trail Patient 1 by a mere week. They are to be restrained in the marsh and left to succumb to disease or any predator imprudent enough to make them their prey.
