Myconid

In the God Era, Polyxo harnessed the life energy bestowed upon her to bring several new lifeforms into existence. Each of these was uniquely adapted to the Underdark, intended to serve various functions. The most sapient of these creations are the myconids, a plant-like race developed in collaboration with Silvanus. The myconids were designed to propagate vegetation and cultivate fungal forests deep underground.

Myconids are exceptionally well-suited among all races for cultivating fungi and yielding abundant harvests. Consequently, they are frequently employed, either voluntarily or through coercion, by other Underdark denizens. In malevolent realms like Urthin-Mejin, they serve as slaves, laboring endlessly in subterranean fields that cater to the demands of densely populated cities.
