Founded by clan interests originating from Thadir, Stalag commenced as a brothel catering to those employed in the nearby salt quarries. This decadent inception has persisted throughout the settlement's history.
The subterranean city-state, a vibrant melting pot of peoples, experienced a significant political shift in 2300 LE, as the Thadir interests were voted out of power. The Turkûn government, once thought to be unassailable, was replaced by Fomorian interests. This transition led the city-state down a dark path, ushering in two centuries of oppressive slave lords and expanding the city's diversity with the inclusion of Mycnoid and other groups.
The majority of the city's Svirfneblin populace are slaves, citizens of Qya-Qhar, or their progeny; through archaic Fomorian ceremonies, certain individuals are transformed into Spriggan.
In 1412, after losing a conflict with Zomaar Yelvaad, Stalag was compelled to become a vassal city-state, dutifully providing tribute, yet otherwise maintaining their customs and governance.
Stalag is a morally depraved and illicit-ridden metropolis. Similar to numerous city-states of this region of Adunamar and above, it is dominated by cartels and criminal organizations.
Stalag is renowned for the raising and training of giant slugs and even purple worms; many of which are exported to military buyers from the regions of Neben-Skerah and Zoethall.
