In the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), Lolth ascended to the angelic rank of a Firre. During this prolonged conflict, she served under the solar Sehanine, who in turn answered to the archangel Corellon.
While stationed on the planet Kriav, overseeing operations in the region of Draugluin, the Covenant confronted multiple demon invasions. In one of these conflicts, the Battle of Belevreth, General Lolth and her wood elf army found themselves encircled by three Demon armies. Surrounded and overpowered, Lolth was offered terms of surrender - her army would be granted safe passage if she submitted to becoming Goul'lumin's captive.
Remarkably, the demons upheld their promise. For Lolth, a grueling period of torture and indoctrination followed, along with a deep aversion to her male guards. The account of her breakout involved pacts with demonic spiders and others swayed by charm or promises of immense power and wealth. Lolth's return to the Covenant's banner was met with a degree of mistrust. After twelve years of indoctrination and psychic torment by demons considered masters of such techniques, the Covenant's leadership were hesitant to assign her duties around others until she had proven her loyalty and shed her "abyssal" tendencies. Lolth was dispatched to command her renowned "Dark Legions" - soldiers created for the night, her Drow guarding and patrolling the subterranean tiers of Eldendil.
After the Angelic Departure, Lolth established Thiliorúth, the inaugural Drow empire. Revered as an empress-deity, she rose to power on 9 Brighstar 401 LE.
The dark spider goddess Lolth has on numerous occasions lent her aid to mortals. However, her violations of the Mandate of the Heavens and breaches of The Balance have led to severe punishments levied against her. Her most recent intervention on behalf of her mortal worshippers occurred during the Second Epoch, when she imparted primordial magic to the Eldalweril - an event that precipitated the emergence of the Entropic Eddies in the High Wood Country.
Lolth is the self-proclaimed Queen of the Demonweb Pits. She serves as the revered patron deity for the majority of drow matriarchal societies.
