Quelmollendë was constructed during the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE) by Covenant forces under the command of Polyxo. Despite Polyxo's skills being better suited to the laboratory than the battlefield, Quelmollendë became their personal research facility. In collaboration with Silvanus, they created the Myconid race. Polyxo's other notable creations at Quelmollendë include the Derro, as well as the first carrion crawlers and ochre jellies.
