Hells Harbinger was forged in the great Maladomini Core, a renowned foundry renowned for its ability to work the metal Tantulhor due to its intense heat. This blade was created early in the Lith-Crillion Era by Baalzebul, who had it forged as a gift for a weak-willed fire giant commander from the world of Bal-Kriav. Baalzebul's aim was to use the blade's sentience to establish a following among the ranks of the Groi Heim army. The current state of affairs in Groi Heim, with Baalzebul's proselytizers and cult, indicates that Hells Harbinger succeeded in its purpose. The sentient blade has established a foothold of diabolic influence in the army, and with the help of other agents, has spread the tenets of Baalzebul. The blade has also provided the names of devil underlings that can be called to service. One of these agents was an imp who carried the secret of imbuing magic items with the Hellfire property, allowing enchanters of Bal-Kriav to learn this technique.

The Hells Harbinger is a masterfully crafted +5 longsword, its blade forged from tantulhor with a fiery red and blue undulating design. The blade's tip is sculpted to resemble the head of a pit viper, the tongue curling around the tip of a wyvern's stinger. The hilt is shaped like an abishi baaetzu, its wings spread wide. The pommel conceals a retractable stiletto blade that can be deployed by twisting the hilt.
