Rod of Arcane Absolution

Category Magic Items
Type artifact
Enchanter Arcana
Built 4 Brightstar 1946 DE
Location unknown

The creation of this legendary artifact resulted in the disappearance of a portion of what was then better known as Sphere 411, a front-line world during the Creation War (1486 DE - 8777 DE). The maker of this magical item, a Covenant general named Arcana, apologized for the incident and promised to monitor "The Great Gash" of Faeglor. However, her attempt to name this area failed, as mischievous rivals succeeded in dubbing it Arcana's Rip.

The mass of earth and rock that once occupied Arcana's Rip now resides within this rod. In an extra-dimensional space, it can be released as a torrential deluge of stone and earth, pulverizing opponents and reducing entire units to scrap. Another power bestowed upon the Rod of Arcane Absolution is the capacity to emulate any other magical weapon.

For the final product, the degree of arcane energy invested in crafting this masterpiece was so immense that none could harness its potent abilities; save perhaps Fog Breaker. Those who attempted to wield its power, including the item's very creator, were violently obliterated as a surge of arcane energy swept over them; thankfully, Arcana had a clone standing by in preparation for this eventuality.

The fabric of The Weave was so easily extracted, nourishing perhaps the realm's most potent and perilous magical artifact. I have little doubt this item will inflict more harm than benefit. Shall we dismantle the substance of Creation, our safeguards, the impetus for the war, to satiate the machinations of these superweapons?

The Rod of Arcane Absolution was universally regarded by the Arcana as too potent to employ or retain.
