The Turgon Aeries were established during the Horgon Era by wood elves collaborating with a cohort of silver dragons. As an entity of the Ashemhorn valley, they generally maintained a peaceful disposition, striving to uphold harmony between the elven communities of southern Turgon and their northern counterparts, comprising dozens of Graagvrii and Vedrii tribes.

The Turgon Aeries, with their jagged spires towering thousands of feet high, are most renowned for their distinctive tops. Each spire has been meticulously carved into the likeness of a colossal eagle head. Both the wood elves and the Graagvrii held the eagle in high esteem - the Graagvrii for its lethal efficiency, the elves for the bird's unfettered freedom to soar above the land and strike at the most opportune moment. Beyond their awe-inspiring visual appeal, the eye-sockets were built large enough to accommodate the passage of an ancient dragon. The silver dragons that inhabited this place were never able to reach such immense proportions, as they were repeatedly summoned away by Bahamut for their excessive intervention in humanoid affairs.

In the Year 75, the Turgon Aeries underwent a profound transformation. They were corrupted by the abyssal energies flooding into the land from the Ungorth Reddik Road. The once majestic eagle heads crumbled away, revealing leering skulls of colossal proportions, from which poured lava, soot, and smoke, obscuring their former graceful features. The eye sockets now glow perpetually red, occasionally releasing blasts of steam or gouts of lava.

The skull-headed spires now function as strongholds for mighty lords. Typically, they cater to the whims of Demogorgon. Slaves have carved numerous living quarters within their structures. These slave encampments frequently serve as the initial bulwark against those aiming to challenge Demogorgon's dominion over Turgon.
