In the year 8465 DE, centuries into the Creation War, several hundred stone giants under Hettar renounced their allegiance to him and the Primordial cause. Through force of arms and cunning, they escaped a leader they perceived as excessively violent and wicked. Hunted by Hettar's forces, they were approached by Lukoon. This Covenant leader offered them safety in exchange for their assistance. The giants agreed, on the condition that it would not involve offensive operations; many, like them, were weary of the seemingly endless conflict. After joining the Nawirrûs Covenant, they were tasked with guarding the southern coasts of sector Phiyel. In the reefs south of present-day Milithian, they constructed the Volod Krind fortifications, now better known as Titan's Triangle.
The Titan's Triangle comprises three grand fortresses and numerous smaller towers and outposts, constructed amidst the rocky outcroppings, reefs, and numerous islets of the eastern Saber Coast. During the Creation War, they successfully repelled Poseidon's forces, and later safeguarded the northern coasts from the demonic hordes in the Demon Spawn War. After the God Era, the stone giants of the region migrated inland, leaving the relics of war behind. The designers and engineers responsible for building Volod Krind became known as the Grey Masons, who went on to construct the formidable Gudgrid Dam and Iglutt's Second Wall.
Today, the Titan's Triangle serve as crucial defenses for the sea lanes that cut through the Trident Reefs to Milithian. During the Black Tide War (1465 - 1486), they played a pivotal role in delaying Admiral Jairall's (of the Black Tide) attack on Milithian. In the Siege of Milithian, they kept Jairall's formidable fleet at bay for nearly a year. Unable to capture any of the Titan's Triangle fortresses, Jairall was forced to portage his ships past the defenses from the northeastern shore, where they seized a castle at great cost.
The fortifications of the Titan's Triangle were constructed by the titans. This signifies they are immense in scale, with corridors and chambers tall enough to accommodate the titans. The current proprietors of the establishment have converted some of these areas into two-story structures through the incorporation of additional stonework and timber.
Beyond its immense sea walls and into the Trident Reefs, the Milithian defenses expand, with the most magnificent and formidable being the three grand fortresses known as the Titan's Triangle. These impressive structures alone held the infamous undead admiral Jairall at bay for nearly a year.
