Gudgrid is an immense dam constructed centuries ago by the colossal stone giants of Raganbirak. The engineering marvel was brought to life through the skilled hands of the Grey Masons. They designed a dam stretching ten miles wide, nearly 500 feet thick at its center, and towering fifty stories tall. Atop this impressive structure lies a road and fortifications, home to ever-vigilant stone guardians - some living, but most golems and other constructs. Many of these latter entities were placed here by mages and priests serving Malacost.
One can only ponder the reason behind the giants' dedication of immense resources and countless hours of labor to construct this engineering masterpiece. Upon completion, the dam held back the primary flow of the Culdanar for centuries, ultimately giving rise to the expansive Hruki lake.
The formidable fortress of Gudgrid has withstood the relentless onslaught of weathering, time, and even arcane forces. Neither the elements nor mortal powers have ever managed to so much as fracture the immense stone fortifications. Gudgrid serves as the domain of both water elementals and colossal stone giants.
