Barândîr is a glacial valley situated in the southern regions of Gulimbor. The azure-hued ice of this locale exhibits an unnatural coloration and texture. The unique properties of the ice were precipitated by Sakazrân Garbanâth's destruction of the Sceptre of Phenul-Tamrâk. The artifact's destruction tripled the size of the glacier, leading to the stabilization and subsequent dissipation of Gulimbor's magical weather patterns. Over the ensuing three decades, the lands of Gulimbor were in many ways restored to their pre-Gulimbor Cataclysm (996 - 1203) state.
Footsteps upon the remote expanses of Barândîr occasionally precipitate fractures in the ice that resonate with a delicate and prolonged chiming resonance. Avalanches, in contrast, generate a far more sonorous chiming that reverberates for considerable distances. The bitter and frequently turbulent conditions of the glacier render traversal of this locale exceedingly perilous. Temperatures across the southern domains of Barândîr fluctuate between -20 and -50 degrees.
Interred deep within the glacial expanses of this region lie the ruins of Borillisk.
Nearly a millennium ago, a formidable psionic experiment was undertaken at Mîras-Sûr. This endeavor culminated in a catastrophic outcome, unleashing a deluge of psychic energy across a vast expanse. Consequently, certain denizens of the valley became phyrenic.
