Devdine was constructed during the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE) by a demonic reconnaissance unit serving Demogorgon. A decade later, as their master's armies pushed northward, Devdine became a labor camp and construction site for a grand citadel. Built primarily by Halfling prisoners, they offered their own blood to mix the mortar. This act held no real benefit, save for Demogorgon's desire to provoke Avandra and her Halfling armies. Bloodletting was just one form of torment inflicted upon the captives. Out of pure malevolence, the demons would wager on who could launch a Halfling the farthest into the waters of Monwuil. According to murals found within Devdine, the hapless victim would be bound to a heavy rock and catapulted into the lake. A similar practice by the Jara at Elf Toss is believed to have been inspired by these same depictions.
The jagged, blood-red architecture of Devdine, designed by the same engineers, mirrors that of Galstyxe. Two notable weapons that have emerged from this ruin are the mace Screaming Maiden and the war pick Demon Purr.
