Dul-Kiz was constructed during the Demon Spawn War by troops under the command of Naraz-Nâru. In this conflict, the primary adversary of this fortification were the demons fighting beneath the banner of demon prince Ahnuthall. Dul-Kiz was captured once in the war between the demons and angels, and only then because a spy disclosed a secret entry point. After the demons pillaged the site, they swiftly vacated it, whereupon the 18th Arkan Taurelin expeditionary force reclaimed it. This regiment of Turkûn soldiers sealed the clandestine entrance and continued to hold the stronghold for the remainder of the war. When the Demon Spawn War concluded, Dul-Kiz was abandoned to the wilderness.
Dul-Kiz had languished in obscurity and isolation until the commencement of the First Epoch. When the dwarves of Narbuzad and the elves of Taurelin commenced skirmishing in the valley below, Fargimdal scouts seized the elevated positions, uncovering a location forgotten and sealed for millennia. They promptly set to restoring the site and establishing a formidable garrison there.
When Dul-Kiz was searched, the dwarves spent a considerable time attempting to unravel the secret locks and runes scattered throughout the bastion's lower levels. Regrettably, some of these unleashed deadly traps and constructs when opened improperly. Nevertheless, a few of the constructs were captured by the Fargimdal and reverse-engineered. This study enabled them to acquire the knowledge necessary for manufacturing slaughterstone eviscerators. The Fargimdal historical records indicate that the capture of one of these golems intact came at a great cost, with hundreds perishing and many more wounded or maimed. Undeterred, Dul-Kiz continued to expand their knowledge on golem creation, dispatching lore seekers to scour the lands for information on crafting other golem varieties. This fascination with golems ultimately transformed Dul-Kiz into a source for purchasing golems and a repository for constructs in general.
In addition to a substantial quantity of golems, Dul-Kiz possesses ten batteries of heavy cannons and a pair of batteries of Ole' Faithful. Furthermore, Dul-Kiz maintains an order of demon hunters known as the Khalag Narkûn. This elite force was established to address the lingering remnants of the Demon Spawn War, which were left behind at lake Bul.
