After the Stalemate of Gudrall, signed on 12 War March 899, the Gudrall hills became the property of an Ogre Lord named Eneriyes. Backed by stone giant masons and engineers from Saer'kal, Eneriyes constructed a towering citadel on the shores of lake Thurveleg, utilizing slave labor. Named Dumugon after Eneriyes's favorite dire wolf, the citadel became a place of debauchery and revelry. With a steady stream of iron and platinum from the Gudrall's mines, Dumugon quickly grew into a thriving town of 10,000 by the Year 950, populated by hobgoblins, goblins, and Toomrur. As a result, Dumugon emerged as a commercial rival to the older and larger city-state of Gúra.
In 1505, the inaugural year of the First Ogre War ( 1505 - 1511 ) , Dumugon was conquered through an amphibious assault by the Fothakith, the naval division of the Orchish Empire. Reclaimed in 1508 by an army headed by Bile mercenary commanders, and surprisingly funded by Gúra 's bankers, this marked the first major triumph for the Toomrur over the Orchish Empire.
In 1510, weary of the economic conflict, one of Fograth's generals, a blue dragon named Zanthrall, launched an attack on Dumugon. While he executed the initial aerial assault, bombarding the battlements with lightning, the remainder of his army, realizing the unsanctioned nature of the attack, were hesitant in their offensive. Consequently, Zanthrall faced concentrated fire, succumbing to a torrent of arrows, ballista bolts, and magical projectiles. Zanthrall's death, betrayed at the very end, created an opening for a sinister power. Resurrected by Thasmudyan, Zanthrall returned to haunt the city as a ghostly dragon. Cunning and assisted by necromancers, over the ensuing six years, Zanthrall drove off a population of more than 30,000.
Today, Dumugon is a chilling and unsettling locale. Spectral sentries patrol the ramparts, and the ghost dragon Zanthrall, once a Fograth general, lurks within the labyrinthine tunnels connecting the endless mines of Gudrall.
